Equi Sicilia was born from a profound love for Sicily, its unique horses, and the desire to share the soul of this island in a true and meaningful way.

Authenticity is at the heart of everything we do. From promoting and breeding rare Sicilian horses, to guiding guests along hidden trails, we offer an experience that is both intimate and unforgettable.

Exploring Sicily on horseback means immersing yourself in a land of breathtaking contrasts: from mountains to the sea, from sun-drenched vineyards to ancient olive groves, from lakes and forests to open countryside. Whether in spring bloom, summer glow, autumn gold, or winter calm, each season reveals a new face of the island. Along the way, we share local legends, stories, and curiosities that bring this ancient land to life.

We pride ourselves on combining professionalism with a deep respect for our horses and our guests. All tours are led by certified guides, trained to ensure safety, care, and a warm, tailored approach. For longer treks, we collaborate with local Sicilian guides who know every corner of the land, and we provide multilingual support (Italian, Sicilian, English and French) to ensure every rider feels at home.

Our horses are more than companions, they are the soul of Equi Sicilia. Carefully trained to be attentive, dynamic, and responsive, they embody the strength and spirit of Sicily on every trek. Our young breeding program focuses on Oriental Purebreds (PSO) and Anglo-Orientals, with the ambition to create noble and enduring partners for trekking and endurance. But beyond performance, our mission carries a deeper purpose: to help preserve one of Sicily’s three native horse breeds, a rare and endangered heritage that deserves to live on. Our goal is not only to protect this local legacy, but also to share its value with international guests, offering them the chance to experience the deep cultural bond between Sicily and its horses.
Through every foal born and every ride shared, we honor the tradition, resilience, and beauty of Sicilian horses.

We are still at the beginning of our adventure. Today, we rent facilities, but our dream is to establish our own property - a sanctuary designed entirely around the well-being of our horses and the authentic experience we wish to offer.

Bettina -

Founder, Manager & Guide at Equi Sicilia

Bettina is the founder of Equi Sicilia. She started riding at the age of five and has explored many disciplines, including show jumping and eventing. Over the years, her passion for horses took her abroad, working as a riding guide in Italy and Iceland - experiences that sparked the dream of creating her own equestrian tourism company.

That dream came into focus when she discovered Sicily on horseback with Vittorio, a fellow rider who introduced her to the island’s wild beauty. After graduating from Sciences Po Bordeaux, she decided to follow her heart and launch Equi Sicilia.

Franco-Italian and fluent in French, Italian, and English, Bettina ensures smooth communication and attentive support for international guests.

Vittorio -

Co-founder, Equine Veterinary & Guide at Equi Sicilia

Vittorio is the co-founder of Equi Sicilia. A native of Sicily, he began competing in endurance riding at a young age, quickly making a name for himself at regional, national, and international levels - especially alongside his Oriental Purebred stallion, Frodo di Ambelia. Deeply connected to his island and its horses, Vittorio has extensive knowledge of Sicilian breeds, particularly the Oriental Purebred.

Driven by passion, he became a certified veterinary technician and is now completing his studies to become a veterinarian specializing in equine care. He speaks Italian, Sicilian, and English, and brings both expertise and local insight to every ride.
